The confusion between more and more is frequent (with diacritical accent and without accent). More is a comparative adverb, adjective or pronoun, while plus it is an adversative conjunction. For example: Wanted to more meat, plus nothing remains.
A diacritical mark is used to differentiate words that are spelled the same but have different meanings, as in this case.
