The English language has several auxiliary verbs, that is, verbs that cannot be used without a main verb. Among them "Will" is an auxiliary modal verb used to construct the Simple future with a verb. The future simple is a tense for actions that will happen in the future.

Meaning

Will and won’t have no translation in Spanish. The word will has the meaning of "Will", but it is not that sense that is taken here.

The simple future construction in English is:

subject + will + Infinitive verb.

To indicate that an action will not happen in the future, the negative of will is used: will not, whose abbreviated version is “won’t”.

Questions (See also: Examples of Interrogatives in English)

As with other auxiliary verbs in English, when a question is asked, will must be said at the beginning of the sentence. The construction of questions with will it is:

Will / Won’t + subject + verb + ?

Third person singular
