The ellipsis (…) Are a punctuation mark consisting of three (always three) horizontally aligned dots in a row. Its name is due to the fact that an absence, that is, a suspended portion of text, is introduced into the written speech.
The use of ellipsis is common in various forms of writing, usually at the beginning or end of the sentence, or enclosed in parentheses.

What are the ellipsis used for?
- Formark the sudden interruption of speech, either with narrative suspense effects or to represent a change of order of thought. This use is very common in the dialogues of a narrative. For example: I have to tell you something but…

- To indicate that there is a portion of omitted text in a quote, usually accompanied by parentheses (…) or square brackets […], according to the methodological regime. This can go to the beginning, middle or end of the appointment.
