The words ending in -ense They are usually gentile (adjectives that refer to a geographical place). For example: canaditaught, Costa Ricantaught, United Statestaught.
However, there are some words that end in -ense and they are not names. For example: fortaught, comptaught.
The ending -ense is written with "s" and not with "c", with some exceptions. For example: the conjugated verb expires (present tense of the third person singular of the indicative mood of the verb to win).
