The rhyme it is a rhythmic element within a text written in verses, such as a song or poetry. It is an acoustic phenomenon because it occurs when a group of phonemes are repeated in at least two verses. This repetition occurs in the last vowel that has an accent.

The word rhyme is used within literature to refer to certain compositions in the form of verse and that in fact it is very common to associate them with poetry.

One of the most recognized figures who dedicated himself to writing rhymes was the Spanish Gustavo Adolfo Domínguez Bastida (better known by his pseudonym:Adolfo Bécquer), one of the most recognized artists within Romanticism. Another Spanish author who also stood out for the composition of rhymes was Federico García Lorca.

Types of rhymes

Within the rhymes can be identified two variants, Which are the following:

• Rhyme. This form of rhyme, also known under the name of perfect rhyme, It happens when in the combination of two verses or words the exact same phonemes coincide from the last vowel with an accent. Within this variant, those in which the stressed vowel is the last letter of the word are identified as the consonant rhyme, such as if the words are combined I took and I will see. The fact that they have to combine both the vowels and the consonants significantly limits the author when composing his rhyme.
• Assonance rhyme. This form of rhyme, also known under the name of imperfect rhyme, it happens when in the last syllable of the words only the vowels coincide. For example: ttoztoand ctosto. (From the last stressed syllable they present the same vowels, in this case, the letter "a").
