The nouns are words used to name things, people, animals, or ideas. In the Spanish language, they can be male (boy) or female (girl). This is called gender of the nouns. In addition, nouns can be plural (children) or singular (child or a child).
Nouns can be common or proper:
- Common nouns: They name things (glass, cup, car), people (man, woman, infant, engineer), and animals (cat, dog, cow).
- Nouns: They refer to the proper names of people (Juan, María, Sandra, Miriam), animals (My dog Puppy, Dolly the cow, the pig Ben) or places (Paris, Madagascar, Europe, Colombia).
